Technical Supervisor
Salary: £33,488 to £33,488 per annum Location: Failsworth Hours: Full Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

To be responsible for the manufacture and quality of masterbatches covering a wide range of products and to supervise and motivate his team to ensure the production performance measures are met.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

Good educational background with an aptitude for figures. Must have supervisory experience (formal training is beneficial) with good communication skills to ensure motivation and correct working practices within the teams. A working knowledge of plastics processing machinery and operation excellence philosophy is beneficial.

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

To have total responsibility for the site and site security when working outside normal office hours and weekends.
To be responsible for the manufacture of all masterbatch to a good consistent quality in line with laboratory specification.
To be responsible for the manufacture of all masterbatch at the required hourly output rates and to ensure that the process conditions correspond with the condition sheets.
To be responsible for testing all manufactured products in line with laboratory specification and to ensure that written records are maintained in the laboratory.
To ensure that the correct raw materials are used according to the laboratory formulations.
To be responsible for the correct settings of all feeding equipment and to ensure all feeding equipment is in calibration.
To be responsible for carrying out minor maintenance repair work, eg. changing dies,simple extruder pusher repairs, stripping and cleaning of feeders including changing screws etc and any other maintenance work considered necessary by the Technical Director.
To be responsible for the correct packaging of all manufactured products and always to endeavour to improve presentation.
To ensure the PMU and bagging area are clean and tidy at all times
HEALTH AND SAFETY

Promote safe working at all times. Ensure that safe working systems and practices are in use at all times.
Ensure the production/lab/maintenance team members understand the hazards and precautions required for all activities undertaken.
Understand and ensure implementation of emergency procedures and safe systems of work
Ensure prompt reporting and investigation of all accidents, near misses and breaches of rules.
COMMUNICATIONS:

To carry out daily shift hand over meetings ensuring all team members are present and that all issue are communicated between the teams
To report immediately all machinery defects to the Maintenance Department and always endeavour to improve plant efficiency.
To organise with team members and team leaders to ensure adequate shift cover during holiday periods and sickness.
To supply both written and verbal reports to the Technical Director and to always ensure that he is kept fully informed of changes on the plant which may affect plant efficiency.
To attend the following meetings:

Daily Production Co-ordination meeting (9am meeting) - Daily

Team Briefing - Monthly

 

The role is Shift work 6-2, 2-10, 10-6 rotating weekly 5 days a week. There is a significant amount of overtime for holiday cover and some weekend working.

·Assist the Lead Operator as and when required

Our client based in Buxton are currently recruiting for 3x machine setting operators to work on a permanent basis.

1.Wickman Multi Spindle Automatic setters. You will need to be conversant with 5/8”, 1” and 1 3/4” Six Spindle machines with manual bar feeds. We also have Pietro Cucchi Automatic bar feeders on some of our 1” Six Spindle machines, any experience with these would be an advantage. We also have a 3 1/2” Sigle Spindle machine as too. Candidates must be fully conversant with the setting of Multi Spindle machines with Threading, Milling, Recessing and Roll Marking attachments. Some knowledge of CMM, Contrace and Shadowgraph metrology systems would be useful.
The Wickman setters are also responsible for setting our Mori Seiki CNC machines, we have 2 off ZL-15S machines and one off ZL-15SM machine. Experience with these would be an advantage but training can be given on these machines.

2.Rotary Transfer Machine Setters. We have Buffoli, Riello, Porta and BTB machines with up to 8 stations. Candidates must be fully conversant in setting Transfer machines with Multi Spindle and Recessing attachments. Good grinding skills are essential, candidates will need to show that they can grind a variety of Drills, Taps and Carbide Tooling to a high standard. Any experience with Optical Vision Systems and Robots would be an advantage. We use Kawasaki and Staubli robots using AS and Val 4 programming languages alongside Fisher Smith, Cognex, AI and NeuroCheck Vision Systems.

3.Hatebur/Press Setters. We have 2 off AMP 20 Hotmatic Stamping machines and a variety of Sub Presses. Anyone with experience setting this type of machine would be of great interest to us.

Roles & Responsibilities
-We are currently recruiting warehouse operatives for Order Picking/Packing within the despatch department at our Droylsden Distribution Centre. This role involves accurately picking products (large volume) from shelving / racking using a computerised ‘voice’ controlled equipment & headset. -The standard working week is 39.5 hours per week and the shift patterns alternate weekly
-To meet the needs of the business you may need to work regular overtime, typically this can be up to 6 hours in each week and occasionally on a Saturday morning. All employees are expected to have a flexible approach to working overtime when required.

- Lead-generate by asking the business owner relevant questions and assessing their needs.
- Provide the customer with quotes for their utility contracts from a range of suppliers.
- Complete a verbal contract and letter of authority. Terminate the existing contract in the case of a supplier transfer.
- Data cleanse: go through each lead on the database and update for future reference.
- Meet the specific targets set by management.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- The Sales Advisor should have a basic competence in I.T. skills, e.g. using the internet, typing and sending emails.
- A professional phone manner.
- A positive and professional attitude. Hard working and efficient.
- B2B Sales experience desirable.
- Customer service experience desirable.
- Determined drive to succeed and develop skills.

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday 9:15 – 17:00 (32.5hrs)
Breaks: 11:00 – 11:15, 12:45 – 13:30. & 15:30 – 15:45

£7.50ph with uncapped weekly commission from the very start of employment with the addition of a monthly performance related bonus and staff discount card (perk box) once you have passed the probationary.

Our client are now being flexible on starting salaries if candidates start on £7.50ph they get 15% commission on any money brought in. If they want higher starting salary then the commission percentage will be lowered (e.g. if on £16,000 commission will be 7.5% if on £18,000 commission will be 5%)
